joist, soffits can be fitted in to an edge trim as shown, there is
no need for any backing timber with this type of fascia

the existing timber ,fascias should be double nailed at 600mm
centers, its best to keep the nails up above the center of the
fascia board so the guttering system will cover them.

as shown in the picture both sides should be finished with fascia
corners for a neat finish.
