Our 10mm Opal Twin Wall Polycarbonate Sheet is a strong, lightweight roofing sheet designed to provide plenty of natural daylight while reducing harsh glare. The opal finish diffuses sunlight, producing softer and more comfortable light beneath the roof.

This large sheet measures 6000mm long x 1050mm wide x 10mm thick, making it particularly suitable for larger canopies, carports, pergolas, patio covers, lean-to roofs and other outdoor roofing projects.

At a full 6 metres long, the sheet can span many larger roof slopes in a single continuous length, helping to reduce unnecessary joins and creating a cleaner finished roof.

Strong & Lightweight Roofing Sheet

Polycarbonate combines excellent impact resistance with relatively low weight, making it considerably easier to handle than traditional glass roofing. The twin wall construction adds rigidity while creating an insulating air space within the sheet.

For open-sided structures such as carports, canopies and pergolas where high levels of thermal insulation are not required, 10mm twin wall polycarbonate provides a practical and economical roofing solution.

UV Protected for Exterior Use

The polycarbonate incorporates UV protection to help prevent degradation caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight, helping the sheet retain its strength and appearance over time.

When installing the sheet, ensure that the UV-protected face is positioned towards the outside of the roof.

Installing 10mm Twin Wall Polycarbonate

The internal flutes or channels of the polycarbonate should always run down the direction of the roof slope. This allows moisture and condensation within the channels to drain correctly.

The sheet ends should be finished with suitable sealing and breather tapes and compatible end closures. Correct polycarbonate glazing bars should be used between adjoining sheets, with sufficient allowance made for thermal expansion and contraction.

Because this sheet is 6 metres long, particular care should be taken during handling and installation. Supporting the sheet properly while moving and positioning it will help prevent unnecessary flexing.

Clear, Bronze or Opal Polycarbonate?

Clear polycarbonate is designed for applications where maximum natural daylight is wanted. Bronze polycarbonate provides a tinted appearance and helps reduce solar glare, while Opal polycarbonate diffuses daylight and provides increased privacy beneath the roof.

For patios and covered areas where you want good daylight without the intensity of direct sunlight, opal is an excellent choice.
