Lightweight Alternative to Glass

Polycarbonate is considerably lighter and easier to handle than traditional glass while providing excellent impact resistance for outdoor roofing applications.

The sheets can be cut to the required size and installed using compatible glazing bars, end closures, sealing tapes and suitable fixings.

Installing 10mm Twin Wall Polycarbonate

The internal channels of multiwall polycarbonate should run down the direction of the roof slope so that condensation within the sheet structure can drain correctly.

The sheet ends should be finished using suitable sealing and breather tapes together with compatible end closures. Correct glazing bars should be used between sheets and sufficient allowance should be made for thermal expansion and contraction.

Clear, Bronze or Opal Polycarbonate?

Clear polycarbonate is the best option where maximum daylight is required.

Bronze polycarbonate helps reduce glare and solar brightness, while Opal polycarbonate provides softer, diffused natural light beneath the roof.
