Strong Lightweight Alternative to Glass

Polycarbonate provides excellent impact resistance while remaining considerably lighter and easier to handle than traditional glass. This makes 10mm twin wall polycarbonate particularly convenient for outdoor roofing and DIY installations.

The sheet can be cut to the required size and installed using compatible polycarbonate glazing bars, end closures, sealing tapes and suitable fixings.

Installing 10mm Twin Wall Polycarbonate

The internal flutes or channels must run down the direction of the roof slope. This allows condensation within the sheet channels to drain correctly.

Suitable sealing and breather tapes should be used on the sheet ends together with compatible end closures and glazing bars. Allowance must also be made for the natural thermal expansion and contraction of polycarbonate.

Clear, Bronze or Opal Polycarbonate?

Clear polycarbonate is the best option where maximum natural daylight is required.

Bronze polycarbonate provides a tinted appearance and helps reduce glare and solar brightness, while Opal polycarbonate produces softer, diffused natural light beneath the roof.
