Lightweight Alternative to Glass

Polycarbonate provides an excellent lightweight alternative to traditional glass for many outdoor roofing projects. It is much easier to handle while providing excellent impact resistance and durability.

The sheets can be cut to the required width or length and installed using compatible polycarbonate glazing bars, end closures, sealing tapes and suitable fixings.

Installing 10mm Twin Wall Polycarbonate

The internal flutes or channels must run down the direction of the roof slope. This allows any condensation within the sheet structure to drain correctly.

Suitable breather and sealing tapes should be fitted to the sheet ends, together with compatible end closures. Correct glazing bars should be used between sheets, and sufficient allowance must be made for the natural thermal expansion and contraction of polycarbonate.

Clear, Bronze or Opal?

Bronze polycarbonate is ideal when you want good natural daylight combined with reduced glare and a tinted appearance.

Clear polycarbonate is the best option where maximum daylight is required, while Opal polycarbonate provides softer, diffused light and greater screening beneath the roof.
