1m x 4m Made to Measure Commercial Glass Rooflight
Our 1m x 4m Made to Measure Glass Rooflight is a long, narrow flat roof skylight particularly suited to commercial buildings, covered walkways, corridors, entrance areas and large flat roof projects.
Available in custom sizes up to approximately 1000mm x 4000mm internal frame size, the long rectangular design provides an effective way of introducing natural daylight along extended internal spaces where a conventional square rooflight may not be suitable.
Manufactured to order in Bristol, each rooflight can be configured with a choice of glazing, frame colours and optional extras including guttering and welded cills.

Long Narrow Rooflight for Commercial Buildings
The 1m x 4m rooflight has a distinctive long and narrow format which makes it particularly useful for commercial and larger architectural projects.
Rather than concentrating the glazing within one square area, the extended 4 metre design can introduce natural daylight along a much longer section of the building.
This makes the rooflight particularly suitable for locations such as:
- Commercial buildings
- Covered walkways
- Internal corridors
- Entrance areas
- Reception areas
- Office buildings
- Retail premises
- Large flat roof areas
- Commercial extensions
- Long residential extensions
Glass Rooflight for Covered Walkways
A long glass rooflight above a walkway or corridor can provide natural overhead daylight along the route without requiring a particularly wide roof opening.
The narrow 1 metre format combined with a length of up to 4 metres makes this rooflight well suited to elongated spaces where natural light is required over a greater distance.
Important 1m x 4m Rooflight Measuring Information
The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame sizes.
The window profiles are approximately 70mm wide, so approximately 70mm must be added to each side when calculating the overall external frame dimensions.
The approximate external frame measurement will therefore be 140mm greater than the stated internal dimension in both directions.
1000mm x 4000mm Rooflight Size Example
A rooflight ordered at the maximum 1000mm x 4000mm internal frame size would have approximate dimensions of:
- Internal Frame: 1000mm x 4000mm
- Approx. External Frame: 1140mm x 4140mm
Please check the internal and external dimensions carefully before constructing the roof opening, kerb or supporting structure.
Low-E Toughened Glass Rooflight
The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glazing, providing natural daylight together with safety and thermal performance.
Low-E glazing incorporates a specialist coating designed to reduce heat transfer through the glass, while the argon-filled sealed units further improve the insulating performance of the glazing.
Double or Triple Glazing Options
Choose the glazing specification required for your project, with double and triple-glazed options available depending on the selected configuration.
- Low-E Toughened Glass
- Argon-Filled Sealed Units
- Double Glazing
- Triple Glazing
- Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
- Blue Tint Glass Upgrade
Self-Cleaning Glass Option
An optional self-cleaning glass upgrade is available to help reduce routine cleaning of the external glass surface.
This can be particularly useful on commercial buildings and larger roof installations where regular access to the external glazing may be difficult.
Blue Tint Glass Option
Blue tint glass is also available, providing an alternative appearance while allowing natural daylight into the space below.
Select your preferred glazing specification when configuring your made-to-measure rooflight.
Strong Roof Glazing Bar System
The rooflight uses a robust roof glazing bar system designed to securely support the glass and create a durable, weather-resistant finished roof structure.
The system provides the support required for the glazing while allowing the rooflight to be manufactured specifically for the dimensions of the individual project.
Choice of Rooflight Frame Colours
Choose from a selection of frame and roof bar finishes:
- White
- Rosewood
- Mahogany
- Light Oak
Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected finishes including Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood.
Optional Welded Cills
The rooflight can be supplied with optional welded cills to suit the selected configuration and installation requirements.
Select the appropriate cill option when configuring your made-to-measure rooflight.
Optional Guttering Pack
An optional guttering package can be supplied where rainwater collection is required around the rooflight.
The package can include Hunter Regency guttering, downpipes, spigots, brackets and appropriate gutter angles to create an integrated rainwater management system around the structure.
Optional Cresting and Finials
Decorative cresting and finials can also be added where a more traditional appearance is required.
These options allow the appearance of the rooflight to be adapted to suit different residential and commercial projects.
Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled Rooflight
Choose the assembly option that best suits your installation:
- Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
- Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: Main structure assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.
For a rooflight of this size, access to the property and the practicalities of handling the assembled structure should be considered when selecting the assembly option.
4 Metre Glass Rooflight for Large Flat Roofs
With an internal length of up to 4 metres, this rooflight creates a substantial strip of overhead glazing that can distribute natural daylight along a large section of a building.
The 1000mm x 4000mm glass rooflight is particularly useful where the shape of the building or available roof area favours a long rectangular rooflight rather than a conventional square design.
It can also provide an impressive architectural feature above long kitchen areas, open-plan extensions and other residential spaces.
