Available Options

1m x 4.5m Made to Measure Commercial Glass Rooflight

Our 1m x 4.5m Made to Measure Glass Rooflight is a long, narrow flat roof skylight designed for larger residential and commercial projects where natural daylight is required across an extended area.

With sizes available up to approximately 1000mm x 4500mm internal frame size, this substantial rectangular rooflight is particularly suited to commercial buildings, covered walkways, corridors, entrance areas, offices and large flat roof extensions.

Manufactured to order in Bristol, the rooflight combines Low-E glazing with welded cills, integrated guttering and a choice of optional opening roof vents.

Made-to-Measure 1m x 4.5m Glass Rooflight

Each rooflight is manufactured to your required dimensions up to the maximum size available for this model, providing considerably more flexibility than a standard fixed-size rooflight.

  • Maximum Internal Frame Size: Approximately 1000mm x 4500mm
  • Design: Long Rectangular Glass Rooflight
  • Manufacture: Made to Measure
  • Application: Flat Roofs
  • Standard Glazing: Low-E Toughened Argon-Filled Glass
  • Double & Triple Glazing Options: Available
  • Welded Cills: Included in this configuration
  • Integrated Guttering: Hunter Regency System
  • Opening Roof Vents: Optional
  • Manufactured: Bristol

Long Narrow Rooflight for Commercial Buildings

The proportions of the 1m x 4.5m rooflight make it particularly useful for commercial buildings and other properties with long internal spaces.

Rather than concentrating daylight into a square area, the elongated roof design can introduce natural light along a much greater section of the building.

Typical applications include:

  • Commercial buildings
  • Covered walkways
  • Internal corridors
  • Office buildings
  • Reception areas
  • Entrance areas
  • Retail premises
  • Hospitality buildings
  • Large flat roof areas
  • Commercial extensions
  • Large residential extensions

Glass Rooflight for Walkways and Corridors

A long glass rooflight above a walkway or corridor provides an effective way of introducing natural daylight along an extended route without requiring an excessively wide roof opening.

At up to 4.5 metres long internally, this model can provide a substantial continuous glazed feature above walkways, entrance areas and other elongated spaces.

Important 1m x 4.5m Rooflight Dimensions

The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame measurements. The external dimensions are larger once the window profiles and cills are included.

The window profiles are approximately 70mm wide. Allowing approximately 70mm on each side means the external frame measurement is approximately 140mm greater than the internal frame measurement in both directions.

The cill extends approximately 160mm from each side of the internal frame measurement, making the approximate overall cill dimension 320mm greater than the internal frame size in both directions.

1000mm x 4500mm Rooflight Size Example

  • Internal Frame: 1000mm x 4500mm
  • Approx. External Frame: 1140mm x 4640mm
  • Approx. Overall Cill: 1320mm x 4820mm

Please check all internal frame, external frame and cill dimensions carefully before constructing the roof opening, kerb or supporting structure.

Integrated Hunter Regency Guttering

This rooflight configuration incorporates Hunter Regency guttering, providing an integrated rainwater management system around the structure.

The guttering is secured using an integral clip system within the eaves beam, creating a neat finished appearance around the perimeter of the rooflight.

Associated guttering components can include downpipes, brackets, spigots and appropriate gutter angles depending on the selected configuration.

Low-E Toughened Glass Rooflight

The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass, providing natural daylight together with safety and thermal performance.

The Low-E coating is designed to reduce heat transfer through the glazing, while the argon-filled sealed units further improve its insulating performance.

Double or Triple Glazing Options

A choice of glazing specifications is available depending on the selected roof configuration.

  • Low-E Toughened Glass
  • Argon-Filled Sealed Units
  • Double Glazing
  • Triple Glazing
  • Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
  • Blue Tint Glass Upgrade

Self-Cleaning Glass Option

An optional self-cleaning glass upgrade is particularly useful on larger rooflights where regular access to the external glazing may be difficult.

This can be especially beneficial for commercial buildings, covered walkways and larger extensions.

Opening Roof Vent Options

Opening roof vents can be incorporated into the rooflight where additional ventilation is required.

Depending on the selected configuration, options include:

  • Manual Opening Roof Vents
  • Electric Roof Vents with Rocker Switch Control
  • Electric Roof Vents with Climate Control
  • Rain Sensor Control Options

Opening roof vents can be particularly useful in larger glazed areas where additional ventilation may be required during warmer weather.

Strong Roof Glazing Bar System

The rooflight uses a robust roof glazing bar system designed to securely support the glazing and create a durable, weather-resistant finished roof structure.

The system allows large made-to-measure glazed rooflights to be produced while providing the support required for the selected glazing configuration.

Choice of Rooflight Frame Colours

Choose from a selection of profile and roof bar finishes to suit the surrounding building:

  • White
  • Rosewood
  • Mahogany
  • Light Oak

Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected finishes including Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood.

Optional Cresting and Finials

Decorative cresting and finials can be added where a more traditional appearance is required.

These options allow the finished appearance of the rooflight to be adapted to suit both residential and commercial projects.

4.5 Metre Glass Rooflight for Large Flat Roofs

With an internal length of up to 4.5 metres, this rooflight creates a substantial strip of overhead glazing capable of distributing natural daylight along a large section of a building.

The 1000mm x 4500mm glass rooflight is particularly useful where the available roof area favours a long rectangular design rather than a conventional square rooflight.

For residential applications, the long format can also work particularly well above large kitchen islands, dining areas and open-plan extensions.

Ordering Your 1m x 4.5m Glass Rooflight

Enter the required internal frame dimensions and select the glazing, frame colour, ventilation and finishing options required for your project.

Because every rooflight is manufactured specifically for your order, please carefully check all dimensions and configuration options before ordering and before constructing the supporting roof opening or kerb.

Installation and Weatherproofing

Roof felt, flashing and surrounding weatherproofing should be completed correctly before installation.

The eaves beam is not designed to replace the required roof flashing or surrounding flat roof weatherproofing. The rooflight must be correctly integrated with the supporting structure and surrounding roof system during installation.
