1.5m x 5.5m Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight

Bring natural daylight into a large residential or commercial space with our 1.5m x 5.5m Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight, manufactured to order in Bristol.

With a maximum internal frame size of approximately 1500mm x 5500mm, this is one of our larger long-format rooflights. Its proportions make it particularly suitable for commercial buildings, covered walkways, corridors, offices, large extensions and open-plan spaces where natural daylight is required across an extended area.

Large 1.5m x 5.5m Made-to-Measure Rooflight

Every rooflight is made to measure, allowing the dimensions to be manufactured specifically for your project rather than restricting you to standard stock sizes.

  • Maximum Internal Area: Approximately 8.25m²
  • Application: Residential & Commercial Flat Roofs
  • Standard Glass: Low-E Toughened Argon-Filled Glass

5.5 Metre Long Glass Rooflight

At up to approximately 5.5 metres long, this rooflight can provide a substantial area of overhead glazing, helping natural daylight reach along the length of larger buildings and rooms.

This makes the long-format design particularly useful where several smaller individual rooflights may otherwise be required.

Commercial Glass Rooflight

The size and proportions of this rooflight make it particularly suitable for commercial and architectural projects. The long, relatively narrow design can work well over circulation routes and large internal areas where daylight needs to be distributed across an extended space.

Typical applications include:

  • Commercial buildings
  • Covered walkways
  • Long corridors
  • Offices and workplaces
  • Reception areas
  • Showrooms
  • Large extensions
  • Open-plan kitchens and living spaces
  • Garden rooms
  • New-build projects

Glass Rooflight for Walkways and Corridors

A 5.5m long glass rooflight can be particularly effective above covered walkways and corridors. The extended glazed area allows daylight to enter along a much greater section of the building than a conventional small rooflight.

Made-to-measure manufacture also allows the dimensions to be coordinated with the available roof structure and the requirements of the individual project.

Large Rooflight for Residential Extensions

Although particularly suited to commercial projects, this rooflight can also create an impressive feature within a large residential extension or open-plan living area.

Positioned above a kitchen island, dining area or central section of an extension, the long glazed roof structure can introduce substantial natural daylight into areas positioned away from conventional windows and doors.

Important Rooflight Measuring Information

The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame measurements.

The surrounding profiles are approximately 70mm wide, meaning approximately 70mm is added to each side when calculating the external frame dimensions.

1500mm x 5500mm Rooflight Size Example

  • Internal Frame: 1500mm x 5500mm
  • Approx. External Frame: 1640mm x 5640mm

Where optional welded cills are selected, further allowance will be required for the overall dimensions.

Please check all dimensions carefully before constructing the supporting roof opening or kerb.

Low-E Toughened Glass Rooflight

The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass, combining natural daylight with safety and thermal performance.

The Low-E coating helps reduce heat transfer through the glazing, while argon within the sealed units further improves thermal efficiency.

Double and Triple Glazing Options

A range of glazing specifications is available depending on the requirements of your project.

  • Low-E Toughened Glass
  • Argon-Filled Sealed Units
  • Double Glazing
  • Triple Glazing
  • Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
  • Blue Tint Glass Upgrade

Self-Cleaning Glass Option

For a rooflight of this size, self-cleaning glass can be a particularly useful upgrade because regular access to the external glazing for cleaning may be difficult.

Select the appropriate glazing option when configuring your made-to-measure rooflight.

Blue Tint Glass Option

An optional blue tint glass specification is also available, providing an alternative appearance while maintaining the benefits of natural overhead daylight.

Strong Roof Glazing Bar System

The rooflight incorporates a robust roof glazing bar system designed to securely support the glass and create a strong, durable finished structure.

This is particularly important with larger rooflights, where the glazing and supporting roof structure need to work together correctly.

Rooflight Colour Options

Choose from a selection of finishes to coordinate the rooflight with your property:

  • White
  • Rosewood
  • Mahogany
  • Light Oak

Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood finishes.

Optional Hunter Regency Guttering

An optional Hunter Regency guttering system can be supplied where rainwater collection is required around the rooflight.

Depending on the selected configuration, components can include guttering, downpipes, downpipe shoes, brackets, spigots and gutter angles.

Optional Cresting and Finials

Decorative cresting and finials can be added where a more traditional appearance is required, or omitted for a cleaner and more contemporary rooflight design.

Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled Rooflight

Select the assembly option that best suits your project:

  • Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
  • Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: Main structure assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.

Large Rooflight Delivery

Due to the dimensions and weight of a rooflight of this size, suitable assistance will be required for unloading and handling.

Please ensure there is suitable vehicle access to the delivery address and sufficient personnel available to safely unload the components.

Long components may require specialist delivery and additional delivery charges may apply depending on the products ordered, quantity and delivery address. Any applicable surcharge will be advised after the order is placed.
