12.5m² Glass Rooflight for Large Spaces

At its maximum dimensions, this rooflight provides approximately 12.5 square metres of internal rooflight area, creating a substantial overhead glazed feature capable of introducing natural daylight across a large space.

The extended 5m length makes this model particularly useful for long rooms and commercial areas where a smaller rooflight may concentrate daylight in only one part of the building.

Ideal for Large Extensions and Commercial Buildings

A 2.5m x 5m glass rooflight can create a striking architectural feature above a large kitchen, dining area or open-plan living space.

Its proportions also make it particularly suitable for larger commercial and development projects including:

  • Large kitchen extensions
  • Open-plan kitchen and dining areas
  • Large living spaces
  • Garden rooms
  • Single-storey extensions
  • Commercial buildings
  • Offices and workplaces
  • Reception areas
  • Showrooms
  • Retail premises
  • Restaurants and hospitality spaces
  • Property developments
  • New-build projects

Important Rooflight Measuring Information

The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame measurements.

The surrounding profiles are approximately 70mm wide, meaning approximately 70mm must be added to each side when calculating the overall external frame dimensions.

2500mm x 5000mm Rooflight Size Example

  • Internal Frame: 2500mm x 5000mm
  • Approx. External Frame: 2640mm x 5140mm

Where optional welded cills are selected, additional allowance must be made for the overall external dimensions.

Please carefully check all measurements before constructing the supporting roof opening, kerb or surrounding structure.

Low-E Toughened Glass

The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass, combining natural daylight with safety and good thermal performance.

The Low-E coating is designed to reduce heat transfer through the glazing, while the argon-filled sealed units provide additional insulation.

Double and Triple Glazing Options

Depending on the selected configuration, the rooflight can be supplied with double or triple glazing.

  • Low-E Toughened Glass
  • Argon-Filled Sealed Units
  • Double Glazing
  • Triple Glazing
  • Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
  • Blue Tint Glass Upgrade

Self-Cleaning Glass for Large Rooflights

An optional self-cleaning glass upgrade is available and can be particularly useful on a rooflight of this scale.

With up to approximately 12.5m² of internal rooflight area, access to the external glazing for routine cleaning may be difficult. Self-cleaning glass can therefore help reduce regular maintenance requirements.

Blue Tint Glass Option

Blue tint glazing is available as an alternative to standard clear roof glass, providing a distinctive appearance while allowing natural daylight into the space below.

Strong Multi-Panel Roof Glazing System

A rooflight measuring up to 2.5m x 5m requires a substantial supporting structure. The glazing is divided into individual sections and securely supported by a robust roof glazing bar system.

This allows a large overall glazed roof area to be created while providing support for the individual glass units.

Choice of Rooflight Colours

Select from a range of profile and roof bar finishes to coordinate your new rooflight with the surrounding building:

  • White
  • Rosewood
  • Mahogany
  • Light Oak

Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood finishes.

Optional Hunter Regency Guttering

An optional Hunter Regency guttering system can be supplied around the rooflight where rainwater collection is required.

Depending on the selected configuration, the guttering package can include:

  • Hunter Regency guttering
  • Downpipes
  • Downpipe shoes
  • Gutter spigots
  • 90° gutter angles
  • Traditional gutter brackets

Optional Cresting and Finials

Optional decorative cresting and finials can be added where a traditional appearance is required.

Alternatively, these can be omitted for contemporary residential extensions and commercial buildings where a cleaner appearance is preferred.

Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled Rooflight

Select the assembly option most appropriate for your installation and site access:

  • Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
  • Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: Main structure assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.

Delivery and Handling

A 2.5m x 5m rooflight is a very large made-to-measure product. Delivery vehicle access, unloading and safe handling of the components should therefore be considered before ordering.

Please ensure there is suitable access to the delivery address and sufficient assistance available to safely unload and move the rooflight components.

Enter the required internal frame dimensions and select your preferred glazing, colour and optional extras when ordering.

Because every rooflight is manufactured specifically for your order, please carefully check all dimensions before ordering and before constructing the supporting roof opening or kerb.

Installation and Weatherproofing

Roof felt, flashing and surrounding weatherproofing should be correctly completed as part of the installation. The rooflight must be properly supported and integrated with the surrounding flat roof system to create a secure and weather-resistant finished installation.
