3m x 3.5m Glass Rooflight for Kitchens & Extensions
Create a stunning feature above a kitchen, dining area or open-plan extension with our 3m x 3.5m Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight.
These larger glass rooflights are particularly popular on new flat roof extensions and orangery-style extensions, where they can be positioned above a kitchen island, dining table or central living area to bring natural daylight deep into the room below.
Manufactured to order in Bristol, every rooflight can be made to your required dimensions up to approximately 3000mm x 3500mm internal frame size, creating an impressive glazed feature of up to approximately 10.5m².
A Feature Rooflight for a New Extension
Modern extensions often use large areas of glass to create bright, open living spaces. A large flat roof glass rooflight provides another source of daylight from directly above and can become one of the main architectural features of the room.
This 3m x 3.5m size is particularly suited to:
- New flat roof extensions
- Kitchen extensions
- Orangery-style extensions
- Open-plan kitchens
- Kitchen and dining rooms
- Rooflights above kitchen islands
- Rooflights above dining tables
- Large family living spaces
- Garden rooms
- New-build properties
Bring Daylight into the Centre of Your Kitchen
One of the advantages of a large rooflight is its ability to introduce daylight into parts of an extension that conventional windows and doors may struggle to reach.
Positioning the rooflight above a kitchen island, dining area or central section of an open-plan room can create a bright focal point while allowing natural daylight to enter from directly overhead.
With a maximum internal area of approximately 10.5 square metres, this rooflight can create a dramatic glazed feature within a substantial extension.
Made-to-Measure 3m x 3.5m Glass Rooflight
The rooflight is not restricted to one fixed size. Each system is made to measure for the individual project within the maximum dimensions of this model.
- Maximum Internal Frame Size: Approximately 3000mm x 3500mm
- Maximum Internal Area: Approximately 10.5m²
- Application: Flat Roofs
- Manufacture: Made to Measure
- Standard Glass: Low-E Toughened Argon-Filled Glass
- Double & Triple Glazing: Available
- Manufactured: Bristol
Important Rooflight Measuring Information
The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame dimensions.
The surrounding profiles are approximately 70mm wide, meaning approximately 70mm must be added to each side when calculating the overall external frame dimensions.
The standard external frame size will therefore be approximately 140mm greater than the internal dimensions in each direction.
3000mm x 3500mm Rooflight Example
- Internal Frame: 3000mm x 3500mm
- Approx. External Frame: 3140mm x 3640mm
If the optional welded cill is selected, allow approximately 320mm additional overall when calculating the required space.
Please confirm all measurements before constructing the flat roof kerb or supporting structure.
Low-E Toughened Glass as Standard
The rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass as standard, providing a combination of natural daylight, safety and thermal performance.
This is particularly important when incorporating a large area of roof glazing into a new kitchen or living extension.
Double or Triple Glazing
Choose the glazing specification required for your project, with double and triple-glazed options available.
- Low-E Toughened Glass
- Argon-Filled Sealed Units
- Double Glazing
- Triple Glazing
- Self-Cleaning Glass
- Blue Tint Glass
Self-Cleaning Glass Option
For a large rooflight positioned above a kitchen or dining area, self-cleaning glass can be a worthwhile upgrade because access to the external glass for cleaning may be difficult.
This option can help reduce the amount of routine maintenance required to keep a large glazed roof feature looking its best.
Blue Tint Glass Option
Blue tint glass is also available and can give the rooflight a distinctive appearance while continuing to introduce plenty of natural daylight into the extension below.
Strong Multi-Panel Roof System
A rooflight of this size uses multiple individual glass units supported by a strong glazing bar system, rather than one enormous sheet of glass.
The glazing bars provide support between the individual sealed glass units while allowing the complete rooflight to create the appearance of one substantial glazed feature.
Rooflight Colour Options
Choose from a range of profile and roof bar finishes to complement the style of your extension:
- White
- Rosewood
- Mahogany
- Light Oak
Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood finishes.
Optional Hunter Regency Guttering
An optional Hunter Regency guttering system can be supplied with the rooflight where a dedicated rainwater system is required.
Depending on the configuration, the guttering pack includes:
- Hunter Regency guttering
- Downpipes
- Downpipe shoes
- Downpipe brackets
- Gutter spigots
- 90° gutter angles
- Traditional gutter brackets
Optional Cresting and Finials
Optional cresting and finials can be added to create a more traditional orangery-style appearance.
Alternatively, these can be omitted where a cleaner contemporary appearance is required for a modern flat roof extension.
Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled
Choose the assembly option most appropriate for your project:
- Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
- Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: Main rooflight structure assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.
Delivery of Large Glass Rooflights
A rooflight approaching 3m x 3.5m is a substantial product. Suitable access and sufficient assistance must therefore be available for unloading and moving the rooflight components and glass.
Please consider vehicle access, unloading and how the individual components will be safely moved to the installation area before ordering.
