3m x 4m Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight
Create an impressive feature above a kitchen, dining area or open-plan living space with our 3m x 4m Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight.
Manufactured to order in Bristol, these larger glass rooflights are particularly suited to new flat roof extensions and orangery-style extensions, where natural daylight from above can completely change the feel of the room below.
With a maximum internal frame size of approximately 3000mm x 4000mm, this model can create up to approximately 12m² of internal rooflight area, making it a striking feature for substantial extensions and open-plan spaces.
Feature Rooflight for Kitchen Extensions
Large modern extensions can extend a considerable distance from the original house. Although large windows, French doors, sliding doors and bi-fold doors provide plenty of light around the outside of the extension, the centre of the room can still benefit from additional daylight.
A large glass rooflight positioned above a kitchen island, dining table or central living area introduces natural light directly from above and creates an attractive architectural feature within the new extension.
Ideal for Orangeries and Flat Roof Extensions
The proportions of this 3m x 4m rooflight make it particularly suitable for larger projects including:
- New flat roof extensions
- Kitchen extensions
- Orangery-style extensions
- Open-plan kitchens
- Kitchen and dining areas
- Rooflights above kitchen islands
- Rooflights above dining tables
- Large family rooms
- Garden rooms
- New-build homes
- Selected commercial projects
Up to 12m² of Rooflight Area
At its maximum dimensions, this rooflight provides approximately 12 square metres of internal rooflight area.
The large 3m x 4m proportions make it possible to create a substantial glazed feature above the main part of an extension, allowing daylight to flood into the space below.
Made-to-Measure Glass Rooflight
This is not simply a fixed 3m x 4m rooflight. Each system is made to measure within the maximum dimensions, allowing the rooflight to be manufactured to suit the individual project.

Important Measuring Information
The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame dimensions.
The surrounding profiles are approximately 70mm wide, meaning approximately 70mm must be added to each side when calculating the overall external frame dimensions.
The standard external frame will therefore be approximately 140mm greater than the internal dimensions in each direction.
3000mm x 4000mm Rooflight Example
- Internal Frame: 3000mm x 4000mm
- Approx. External Frame: 3140mm x 4140mm
If the optional welded cill is selected, allow approximately 320mm additional overall when calculating the finished dimensions.
Please check all dimensions carefully before your builder constructs the roof opening, kerb or supporting structure.
Low-E Toughened Glass
The rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass as standard, providing natural daylight together with good thermal performance and safety.
This is especially important with a rooflight of this size, where a substantial area of glazing becomes part of the new extension.
Double and Triple Glazing Options
Select the glazing specification most appropriate for your project, with a range of standard and upgraded options available:
- Low-E Toughened Glass
- Argon-Filled Sealed Units
- Double Glazing
- Triple Glazing
- Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
- Blue Tint Glass Upgrade
Self-Cleaning Glass for Large Rooflights
Self-cleaning glass is a useful option for a large rooflight because reaching the external surface for routine cleaning can be difficult once the rooflight has been installed.
It can be particularly worthwhile on large kitchen extensions and orangeries where the rooflight forms a major feature of the room.
Blue Tint Glass Option
Optional blue tint glass provides an alternative appearance to standard clear glazing and can create a distinctive finish when viewed both internally and externally.
Multi-Panel Glass Roof System
A large 3m x 4m rooflight is formed using multiple individual glass units supported by a robust roof glazing bar system.
The glazing bars provide support between the individual glass sections, allowing a substantial overall glazed area to be created while maintaining the structure required for the roof system.
Choice of Rooflight Colours
Choose from a range of profile and roof bar finishes to coordinate the rooflight with your extension:
- White
- Rosewood
- Mahogany
- Light Oak
Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood finishes.
Optional Hunter Regency Guttering
An optional Hunter Regency guttering system can be supplied where a dedicated rainwater collection system is required around the rooflight.
Depending on the selected configuration, the guttering pack can include:
- Hunter Regency guttering
- Downpipes
- Downpipe shoes
- Downpipe brackets
- Gutter spigots
- 90° gutter angles
- Traditional gutter brackets
Optional Cresting and Finials
Optional cresting and finials can be added where a more traditional orangery-style rooflight appearance is required.
For contemporary kitchen extensions, the decorative components can be omitted to create a cleaner and more modern appearance.
Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled
Choose the assembly option most suitable for the project and available site access:
- Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
- Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: Main structure assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.
