Important Rooflight Measuring Information
Please note: the dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame sizes.
The window profiles are approximately 70mm wide, so approximately 70mm must be added to each side when calculating the overall external frame dimensions.
This means the approximate external frame size will be 140mm greater than the stated internal dimension in both directions.
Rooflight Size Example
For example, a rooflight ordered with an internal frame size of 1000mm x 1500mm would have an approximate external frame size of:
- Internal Frame: 1000mm x 1500mm
- Approx. External Frame: 1140mm x 1640mm
Please check all measurements carefully before constructing the roof opening, kerb or supporting structure.
Low-E Toughened Glass Rooflight
The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glazing, providing a combination of natural daylight, safety and thermal performance.
Low-E glazing incorporates a specialist coating designed to reduce heat transfer through the glass, while the argon-filled sealed units further improve thermal performance.
Double or Triple Glazing Options
Choose the glazing specification that best suits your project, with double and triple-glazed options available depending on the selected configuration.
Glazing options include:
- Low-E Toughened Glass
- Argon-Filled Sealed Units
- Double Glazing
- Triple Glazing
- Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
- Blue Tint Glass Upgrade
Self-Cleaning Glass Option
A self-cleaning glass upgrade is available for customers looking to reduce routine cleaning of difficult-to-reach roof glazing.
This can be particularly useful for rooflights positioned above extensions, kitchens and other areas where regular access to the outside surface of the glass may be difficult.
Blue Tint Glass Option
Blue tint glazing is also available, providing a distinctive appearance while allowing plenty of natural daylight into the room below.
Select your preferred glass specification when configuring the rooflight.
High-Performance Roof Bar System
The rooflight uses a strong, weather-resistant roof glazing bar system designed to securely support the glass and provide a durable finished roof structure.
The glazing bar system provides the strength and weather protection required for a long-lasting glass roof installation while helping to simplify assembly on site.
Choice of Rooflight Frame Colours
Select from a range of frame and roof bar finishes to coordinate your new rooflight with the surrounding property:
- White
- Rosewood
- Mahogany
- Light Oak
Optional Welded Cills
The rooflight can be supplied with optional welded cills to suit the selected configuration and installation requirements.
Please select the required cill option when configuring your made-to-measure rooflight.
Optional Guttering Pack
An optional guttering pack can be supplied where required to provide a complete rainwater management solution around the rooflight.
The guttering package includes the appropriate gutter components, downpipes, brackets and outlets required for the selected configuration.
Optional Cresting and Finials
For a more traditional appearance, optional decorative cresting and finials can be added to the rooflight.
These decorative components are particularly suitable where the rooflight is being incorporated into a traditional property, conservatory-style extension or garden room.
Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled Rooflight
Choose the assembly option that best suits your installation:
- Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
- Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: The main structure is assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.
The most suitable option may depend on the overall size of the rooflight, access to the property and your preferred installation method.
Ideal for Flat Roof Extensions
A glass rooflight for a flat roof can transform an extension by introducing natural daylight from above, particularly in areas positioned away from conventional windows and external doors.
Typical applications include:
- Kitchen extensions
- Kitchen-diners
- Dining rooms
- Open-plan living spaces
- Garden rooms
- Flat roof extensions
- Home renovations
- New-build projects

Ordering Your Made-to-Measure Glass Rooflight
Enter the required internal frame dimensions and select the glazing, colour, cill and optional extras required for your project.
Because every rooflight is manufactured specifically for your order, please carefully check all dimensions before ordering and before constructing the supporting roof opening, kerb or structure.
Roof preparation, weatherproofing, felt and flashing should be completed correctly as part of the installation to ensure the finished rooflight is properly integrated with the surrounding flat roof.
