Large Glass Rooflight for Kitchen Extensions
The 1.5m x 2m glass rooflight provides a substantial area of overhead glazing, making it particularly suitable for extensions and open-plan rooms where additional natural daylight is required.
A larger rooflight can help introduce daylight deeper into an extension, particularly where the new room extends beyond the original rear wall of the property.
Typical applications include:
- Kitchen extensions
- Kitchen-diners
- Dining rooms
- Open-plan living areas
- Garden rooms
- Rear extensions
- Flat roof extensions
- Home renovations
- New-build properties
- Commercial buildings
Made-to-Measure Rooflight for Open-Plan Living
A 1500mm x 2000mm glass rooflight can create an impressive feature above a kitchen island, dining table or central living area.
The larger glazed area allows natural light to enter from above while creating a bright, open feeling within the room below.
Important Rooflight Measuring Information
The dimensions entered when ordering are the internal frame measurements.
The window profiles are approximately 70mm wide. Allowing approximately 70mm on each side means that the external frame measurement is approximately 140mm greater than the internal frame measurement in both directions.
1500mm x 2000mm Rooflight Size Example
A rooflight ordered at the maximum 1500mm x 2000mm internal frame size would have approximate frame dimensions of:
- Internal Frame: 1500mm x 2000mm
- Approx. External Frame: 1640mm x 2140mm
Optional Welded Cill Dimensions
Where welded cills are selected, the overall rooflight dimensions will increase further and must be taken into account when preparing the supporting roof structure.
Where the cill extends approximately 160mm from each side of the internal frame measurement, the maximum size would have an approximate overall cill dimension of:
- Internal Frame: 1500mm x 2000mm
- Approx. Overall Cill: 1820mm x 2320mm
Please check all measurements carefully before constructing the roof opening, kerb or supporting structure.
Low-E Toughened Glass Rooflight
The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass, providing a combination of natural daylight, safety and thermal performance.
The Low-E coating is designed to reduce heat transfer through the glazing, while the argon-filled sealed units further improve its insulating performance.
Double or Triple Glazed Rooflight
Choose the glazing specification that best suits your project, with double and triple-glazed options available depending on the selected configuration.
- Low-E Toughened Glass
- Argon-Filled Sealed Units
- Double Glazing
- Triple Glazing
- Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
- Blue Tint Glass Upgrade
Self-Cleaning Glass Option
An optional self-cleaning glass upgrade is available to help reduce routine cleaning of the external surface of the rooflight.
This can be particularly useful where the roof glazing is positioned above an extension and regular external access may be difficult.
Blue Tint Glass Option
Blue tint glazing is also available for customers looking for an alternative appearance to standard clear roof glazing.
Select the required glazing option when configuring your made-to-measure rooflight.
Strong Roof Glazing Bar System
The rooflight uses a durable roof glazing bar system designed to securely support the glass and provide a strong, weather-resistant finished roof structure.
The system allows each rooflight to be manufactured specifically for the required dimensions while providing the support necessary for the selected glazing.
Choice of Rooflight Frame Colours
Select from a range of profile and roof bar finishes to coordinate the rooflight with the surrounding property:
- White
- Rosewood
- Mahogany
- Light Oak
Aluminium roof bars are also available in selected finishes including Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood.
Optional Hunter Regency Guttering
An optional Hunter Regency guttering package can be supplied where rainwater collection is required around the rooflight.
Depending on the selected configuration, the guttering package can include the appropriate gutter sections, downpipes, brackets, spigots and connecting components.
Optional Cresting and Finials
Decorative cresting and finials can be added where a more traditional appearance is preferred.
These options can provide an attractive finishing detail where the rooflight is visible externally or forms a prominent architectural feature.
Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled Rooflight
Choose the assembly option that best suits your installation:
- Flat-Packed: Supplied ready for assembly on site.
- Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: The main roof structure is assembled before delivery, with the glass and finishing trims installed on site.
Suitable assistance will be required for unloading a pre-assembled rooflight. Please consider the size, weight and access to the installation area when selecting this option.
Glass Rooflight for Extensions and Garden Rooms
The proportions of this 1.5m x 2m rooflight make it particularly suitable for residential extensions where a broad area of overhead glazing is preferred to the long, narrow format commonly used on walkways and corridors.
Positioned above a kitchen, dining area or open-plan living space, the rooflight can create an attractive architectural feature while bringing natural daylight into the centre of the room.
