Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight
Bring natural daylight into a kitchen extension, dining area, orangery or flat roof extension with our Made to Measure Flat Roof Glass Rooflight.
Manufactured to order in Bristol, these rooflights are designed around the requirements of your individual project, giving homeowners, builders and developers greater flexibility than standard off-the-shelf rooflights.
Available with a choice of glazing, finishes, guttering and decorative options, the system can be used to create anything from a relatively compact rooflight to a substantial glazed feature above a large open-plan living space.
Made-to-Measure Glass Rooflights
Every rooflight is made to measure, allowing the dimensions to be selected to suit the roof opening and overall design of your project.
This makes the system particularly useful for extensions and renovation projects where standard rooflight sizes may not suit the available space.
Ideal for Kitchen and Dining Extensions
One of the most popular applications for a large glass rooflight is above a new kitchen or dining extension.
Modern flat roof extensions can extend considerably beyond the original rear wall of a property. Although large bi-fold, sliding or French doors can introduce plenty of daylight from the garden elevation, the centre of the extension can still benefit from additional natural light from above.
A made-to-measure rooflight can be positioned above a:
- Kitchen island
- Dining table
- Open-plan kitchen
- Family seating area
- Central section of an extension
This can create a striking architectural feature while helping natural daylight reach further into the room.
Glass Rooflights for Orangeries
These rooflights are also particularly well suited to orangery-style extensions.
A raised glazed roof feature can provide the characteristic appearance associated with an orangery while allowing the surrounding roof construction to remain predominantly solid.
Optional cresting and finials can be added where a more traditional appearance is required, or omitted for a cleaner contemporary design.
Suitable for Residential and Commercial Projects
The made-to-measure design makes these rooflights suitable for a wide variety of projects, including:
- Kitchen extensions
- Dining room extensions
- Orangeries
- Open-plan living areas
- Garden rooms
- Flat roof extensions
- New-build properties
- Home renovation projects
- Commercial buildings
- Offices and workspaces
Low-E Toughened Argon-Filled Glass
The standard rooflight is supplied with Low-E toughened, argon-filled glass, providing natural daylight together with good thermal performance.
Low-E glass incorporates a specialist coating designed to reduce heat transfer through the glazing, while argon gas within the sealed unit further improves its insulating performance.
Double and Triple Glazing Options
The glazing specification can be selected to suit the requirements of your project.
- Low-E Toughened Glass
- Argon-Filled Sealed Units
- Double Glazing
- Triple Glazing
- Self-Cleaning Glass
- Blue Tint Glass
Self-Cleaning Glass Upgrade
Self-cleaning glass is available as an upgrade and can be particularly useful for roof glazing where regular access to the external surface may be difficult.
For larger rooflights positioned above kitchens, dining rooms and extensions, this can help reduce the amount of routine exterior cleaning required.
Blue Tint Glass
A blue tint glass option is also available for customers looking for an alternative appearance to standard clear roof glazing.
Select the required glass specification when configuring your made-to-measure rooflight.
Strong Multi-Panel Roof Bar System
The rooflight uses a durable roof glazing bar system designed to securely support the individual glass units and create a strong finished roof structure.
For larger rooflights, the glazing is divided into individual sections supported by the roof bars, allowing substantial areas of overhead glazing to be created.
Rooflight Colour Options
Choose from a range of profile and roof bar finishes to coordinate the rooflight with the surrounding property.
- White
- Rosewood
- Mahogany
- Light Oak
Selected aluminium roof bars are also available in Light Oak, Mahogany and Rosewood finishes.
Optional Welded Cills
Welded cills are available as an option depending on the rooflight configuration and installation requirements.
Because cills affect the finished external dimensions of the rooflight, all measurements should be checked carefully before the supporting roof structure or kerb is constructed.
Optional Hunter Regency Guttering
An optional Hunter Regency guttering system can be supplied where rainwater collection around the rooflight is required.
Depending on the selected configuration, the guttering package can include:
- Hunter Regency guttering
- Downpipes
- Downpipe shoes
- Downpipe brackets
- Gutter spigots
- 90° gutter angles
- Traditional gutter brackets
Optional Cresting and Finials
Decorative cresting and finials can be added where a more traditional rooflight or orangery appearance is required.
For contemporary kitchen extensions and modern properties, these can simply be omitted to produce a cleaner roof design.
Flat-Packed or Part-Assembled
Two assembly options are available depending on the size of the rooflight, access to the property and installation requirements.
- Flat-Packed: Supplied as individual components ready for assembly on site.
- Pre-Assembled to Glazing Stage: The main rooflight structure is assembled prior to delivery, with the glass and finishing trims fitted on site.
For larger assembled rooflights, suitable assistance will be required when unloading the delivery vehicle.
Important Measuring Information
As each rooflight is manufactured specifically to order, accurate measurements are essential.
The dimensions entered when ordering should be checked against the required roof opening, supporting kerb and finished external dimensions of the selected rooflight configuration.
Do not construct the final supporting opening or kerb from assumed dimensions. Check the dimensions of your selected rooflight configuration carefully before commencing construction.
Flat Roof Kerb and Weatherproofing
The supporting roof structure and kerb must be correctly prepared before installation.
Roof covering, felt, flashing and associated weatherproofing should be completed correctly so that the rooflight can be properly integrated with the surrounding flat roof.
Manufactured to Order in Bristol
Our made-to-measure glass rooflights are manufactured in Bristol and supplied to homeowners, builders, installers, extension companies, developers and trade customers.
Manufacturing to order gives customers the flexibility to specify a rooflight that suits the individual dimensions and appearance of their project rather than designing the extension around a limited selection of standard rooflight sizes.
We supply rooflights throughout Bristol and the surrounding area, with delivery options also available for projects elsewhere in the UK.
